Finding the most efficient labelled products is simple. A new national award scheme, called Top Energy Saver Award (TESAW), now recognises the most energy efficient electric and gas labelled appliances on the market! We do all the hard work for you. The details were developed during 2003 and it was launched in early November 2003. It is now as easy as looking up star ratings!! You can get all the TESAW details on this web site!

Getting Lists of the Most Efficient Products

When you go to the interactive appliance listings on this web site, products are listed in order of their energy efficiency - the most efficient models are shown at the top. So it is easy to choose the most efficient products on-line! It's as simple as:

Selecting the product you want to search
Filter products you want included in your list by brand, size or type (or select all products)
Once filtered, you can sort this list by any of the available criteria including size, energy consumption, energy efficiency or brand. Models are sorted in order of energy efficiency as a default (most efficient at the top).

You can also download all of the current products on the market in CSV (for Excel) or Access format. This will allow you to format or process the data off line in a way that suits your needs.

Galaxy Energy Awards

The Galaxy Energy Awards, which were run from 1988 to 2001, recognised the most energy efficient energy-labelled electric and gas household appliances on the market. The Awards were initiated by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria in 1988 and were managed by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Victoria from 1994 to 1999. In 2000 and 2001, the Awards were jointly managed by Sustainable Energy Authority of Victoria and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of NSW. The last Awards were held in November 2001. A full listing of electrical and gas appliances which received Galaxy Awards in 2001 can be found on this site. The Galaxy Awards have now been replaced by the Top Energy Saver Awards (TESAW).
