Consultation: Chillers 2018

We’ve released a consultation paper to resolve some of the issues with chillers under the GEMS Act and we are holding public consultation meetings in July.

The current approach to registering chillers is not suited to the bespoke nature of these products. E3 is proposing a move toward international harmonisation, and we welcome your views!

Public Consultation Meetings

We are holding two public consultation meetings in Australia and one in New Zealand.


The Australian details are:

There is free parking at the Melbourne venue, while the Sydney venue has paid parking. For people arriving at Sydney airport, you could either walk or catch a shuttle bus.

New Zealand:

Auckland: 25 July, 10 am to 12 pm (followed by a light lunch)

It is currently organised to take place at Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA)’s Auckland office, AIG Building, Level 7, 41 Shortland Street, however, this is dependent on numbers. Please note the Auckland office does not have car parking but there are places nearby.

There will be representatives from the Australian Department of the Environment and Energy and EECA present.
