Independent Review of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012

Public Consultation on Discussion Paper

The Australian Government is undertaking an independent review of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards Act 2012 (GEMS Act), in line with section 176 of the Act. Ms Anna Collyer, a partner at law firm Allens, has been appointed to undertake the review. The review is a statutory requirement to ensure the GEMS Act remains appropriate and effective in reducing Australia’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The review now invites public submissions on the Discussion Paper, which will be considered to inform the development of a Draft Report.

How can I get involved?

The Consultation paper is open for public comment until 28 March 2018.
