GEMS Act Compliance
The GEMS Regulator has published a report of the results of market surveillance conducted between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016 on models of GEMS products requiring Energy Rating Labels to be displayed. Market surveillance refers to activities undertaken by GEMS inspectors to ensure models of GEMS products meet GEMS registration and labelling requirements once in the marketplace.
During this period, GEMS inspectors attended the stores of 19 different national or state based electrical, department, hardware, and supermarket retail chains across the central business districts, suburbs, and regional areas of NSW, NT, SA, VIC, WA, and the ACT to survey 2,768 products of models of GEMS products in relation to registration and labelling compliance.
