On 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Information on websites maintained by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the conclusion of the caretaker period.

This is a Decision Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) which examines the impacts arising from a proposal to change the star rating algorithm for the energy labelling system and update the MEPS levels for air conditioners. It also proposes a number of new requirements as part of the regulatory scheme for these products.
