Refrigerated cabinet registrations cancelled by GEMS Regulator

The registrations of 14 refrigerated cabinets have been cancelled by the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Regulator and can no longer be offered for sale or supply in Australia.

The registrant was required to provide two refrigerated cabinets for check testing under section 57 of the GEMS Act, but ultimately applied to cancel the registration of all 14 of their registered products instead under subsection 54(2) of the GEMS Act. 

Once a model’s registration has been cancelled, it can no longer be offered for supply in Australia.

Check testing is conducted to verify whether the product meets the energy-efficiency claims provided on the registration.  

Compliance activities ensure consumers have confidence in the quality of the products they buy, and businesses have a fair and competitive commercial environment where everyone is subject to the same rules and obligations.
